KACD Committees
Kansas Association of Conservation Districts has nine standing committees. In addition to the standing committees, the Board of Directors each year may designate special committees to carry specific responsibilities. Examples include the Legislative Committee and the State Fair Committee.

The Kansas Association of Conservation District standing committees are:
Conservation Education & Youth
The committee facilitates KACD’s sponsorship of annual contests for youth including; area and state speeches, state conservation poster, limerick and essay, and the newest conservation photography. This committee also offers two scholarships for college students majoring in agronomy, range or natural resources. Additionally, KACD sponsors the Kansas Envirothon for Kansas high school students.
District Operations & Resolutions
The committee provides training and programs for member districts and supervisors to acquire skills and resources necessary to carry out the operations of the conservation district as outlined in Conservation District Law.
Endowment
The role of the KACD Endowment Committee is to search for donations to increase the Endowment Fund, provide oversight of the investment of the principle of the fund and provide the KACD Board advice on the use of the income from the Fund to further conservation of the natural resources in the state of Kansas.
Finance & Development
As the financing of KACD's operation is essential to its continued success, the Finance & Development Committee as appointed by the KACD Board of Directors will take responsibilities in the following areas that include but not limited to annual review of membership dues, annual audit of all funds, seek new funding for activities, and provide information to districts.

Grasslands
The KACD Grasslands Committee is committed to addressing issues affecting the health, preservation, and management of Kansas grasslands by educating others and promoting the use of best management practices. The committee also promotes grassland awards at the state and county level and helps secure sponsorship for award signs.
Committee Chairman
Natural Resources
The purpose of the Natural Resources Program Committee is to invite, create and address programs that either exist or would be created through KACD or other conservation-related organizations which enhance the benefits of conservation efforts.
Stewardship
The purpose of the Stewardship Committee is to plan and conduct the Vespers Service at the annual Kansas Association of Conservation Districts’ convention. The Stewardship Committee will work with the association’s member districts to recognize recently deceased conservation district supervisors for memorial during this service.
Urban & Rural Development
The purpose of the Urban & Rural Development Committee is to promote federal, state or conservation district programs that enhance natural resource conservation in urban and rural areas; and facilitate opportunities for economic growth in urban and rural settings in such a way that protects and enhances the natural resources of Kansas.
Wildlife, Forestry & Recreation
The purpose of this committee is to provide to KACD information and education on various aspects of wildlife, recreation and forestry programs and other activities that impact conservation districts throughout Kansas.
